Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Session - Roy GottliebCraniosacral Therapy consists of extremely gentle responsive interactions with the bones, soft tissues, and fluids of the cranium, sacrum, and body as a whole. This is done to enhance the integrity of the craniosacral system and thus allow the body’s own natural healing resources to become more fully engaged. The client’s experience of a session is often one of profound stillness. Roy is a Registered Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist.

The craniosacral system consists of the bones, membranes, and fluid that surround the brain and spinal cord, extending from the inside of the skull down to the base of the spine. Osteopath William Sutherland began exploring its workings in the early 1900’s. He discovered that imbalances of this system can be responsible for a wide variety of sensory, motor, visceral, and neurological problems. His work has been expanded upon and refined over the years by several people, including Dr. John Upledger, Osteopath  and director of the Upledger Institute in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Polarity Therapist Franklyn Sills of the Karuna Institute in Devon, England.
